Free school meals go electronic at Moulton College with Fidelity EPoS and Debitrak

Moulton College have used our electronic free school meals set up to digitise their free school meals process, reporting and how students use the scheme.

The background:

Moulton College, in Northamptonshire, had been using a very problematic and time consuming system for allocating, logging and tracking free school meals.

The college has approximately 1,000 students eligible for the free school meals scheme.

To track which of them had claimed their meal each day they were manually logging names on paper. This was a logistical headache to track, to say the least. It was also fairly open to abuse.

The solution:

Using the Fidelity EPoS system with a Debitrak cashless integration and a cashless card reader at the canteen till point, the college are now able to digitally control this process with ease.

Each student is being given their own cashless card with their daily allowance on. Students and allowances are all managed remotely in the back office system.

Reporting has never been easier. All the stats and data the college need are in the system and ready to view in real-time at any moment.

With a simple tap of the student’s ID card they can discreetly receive their free meal. This process is far nicer for the student as well as being much slicker for the college.

This has been very quick to set up and Fidelity has provided training to the canteen team and department managers at the college.

This new system is saving them a lot of time and effort.
